Thankful, Day Sixteen

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us and not we ourselves;
We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
Psalm 100, NKJV

I'm thankful, this morning. But I also feel like I've been run over by a truck. Not that I've ever been run over by a truck. Somehow I think I would be feeling a lot worse. So maybe it was just a small truck. Nevertheless, my spirit is thankful, even if my flesh is weak today.

The disciples called Jesus Lord, and I'm thankful today that He is my Lord, the overseer of my life and the one before whom I bow in reverence and worship.

The disciples called Him Master, and I'm thankful today that He is my Master, the one who knows what He requires of me, what He expects of me, and who also rewards me for a job well done.

The disciples called Him Teacher, and I'm thankful today for the instructive Word, for the Spirit who teaches me all things that I need to know, and for the wonderful example upon whom I can keep my eyes fixed.

I'm thankful this morning, Jesus, and I bless your name today.
