Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
and into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
Psalm 100, NKJV
God is the creator of all that exists, the One who brought all things into existence by the power of His will, by the power of His word. It is He who calls those things into existence that are not as though they are.
I am thankful that He put me together, fashioned me cell by cell with His own hands in the womb of my mother. I am fearfully and wonderfully made, because I am His workmanship. And I like how He put me together. If I had made me, I might have made me taller, more athletic, or built differently. But then, my head might have been turned by my own good looks. As it is, I'm happy with who I am, and this body is merely a shell that will one day be shed for a glorified existence.
I am thankful that He shaped my life, forming my person and guiding my path with His own hands. He put in me gifts and talents and abilities that could be developed and utilized by His Spirit. He gave me everything that I have, everything that I am, He continues to give me dreams and visions and goals and desires. I truly appreciate everything He has built into my make-up, and can't wait to see how He will use it now, in the future, and in eternity.
I am thankful that He made all things new when He saved me, and each time He forgives me. Old things passed away the day I gave my life to Jesus Christ, and the trappings of that old life, the remnants of that old man continue to pass away as I yield myself to His will. I am a new creature, with a new name written down for me, a new white robe awaiting me, and new mercies that await me every morning. And I'm thankful that He's still working on me, faithful to fulfill every promise that He has made, and to complete everything that He has begun in me.
Thank you Lord, for making me. Help me Lord to yield.
